Our first pop-up retail shop at CoCo of Burton took place over the August Bank Holiday, providing opportunities for the local community to connect via music and entertainment!
The event provided opportunities for any music lover to come along and browse the wide variety of vinyl and CD’s available, whilst connecting with the community to discuss their love of music and listen to some amazing tunes! Donations received were extremely varied, covering modern pop, to jazz and even the odd Christmas record!
Despite the terrible weather over the weekend, the event raised over £100 for sarac and raised the profile of CoCo throughout the local community. We were lucky enough to be supported by some of our friends, family and business associates and can’t thank everyone enough for getting involved.
Following the success of this event, we recently held a clothing, shoes and accessories pop-up shop. It seemed that within the local area there is a passion for fashion!
Following an exciting VIP pop-up launch attended by staff and volunteers, it was great to see so many people interested in what was on offer. There were some amazing designer bargains – most of which were snapped up very quickly, and a great selection of items for women, men and children!
It is essential that once again, we thank everyone for their donations to help us to be able to set up the shop – the lovely comments we received about the layout and the ethos of CoCo were positively encouraging. Our admin team and services manager used their retail experience to make the shop something everyone was proud of.
This time held over a two day period, we saw a variety of members of the local community, family, friends, colleagues and business contacts. The event provided an opportunity for people to find out more about the work of sarac, as well as how the charity hopes to evolve CoCo over the coming months.
The event raised £500 for sarac – thank you again to everyone who donated items for sale, came and purchased something or helped us to spread the word about the event!
Running the shop this time has shown we have a need for volunteers! Could you help us with supporting, organising, implementing or facilitating projects? We would welcome anyone with experience in fundraising, administration, social media and campaigning but this isn’t essential! If you would be interested in getting involved, please contact the sarac office on 01283 535110 for more details!
