Anonymous Online Support Group

A digital platform for members of the LGBTQ+ community to connect, seek guidance, share experiences, and provide mutual support without the fear of judgement or discrimination.

The monthly sessions are held over Microsoft Teams to allow for anonymity within the group. Attendees will be sent a link via email to join prior to the session. The sessions provide a safe, judgement free space to discuss issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

Some sessions may have a specific focus, but attendees are welcoming to discuss anything they wish to.

This may vary month to month depending on who is interested, but we will aim to keep the sessions to around 5 people. If demand for the sessions grow, we will look to hold sessions more frequently, so we don’t have too many attendees in one session.

By holding the sessions via Teams, we can allow for attendees to enter in as anonymous guests. Attendees will be unable to provide their real names or enter with an account, which will prevent any personal details being shared.

Via the call settings, the host is also able to prevent cameras from being turned, on so there is no risk of attendees accidentally turning their camera on during the call. Attendees will also be unable to share any personal details via the chat function.

The only information that we will require is an email to send the Teams invite link to, which will be kept confidential. No further personal information will be asked of you.

Anything regarding LGBTQ+ – this will be an open, judgement free space to discuss any issues that are faced by the LGBTQ+ community. This group will allow you to share experiences and receive support from people who understand and want to help.

You can experience the session however you feel comfortable – attendees will not be made to participate if they choose not to, it is more than okay to just sit and listen.

Our only rule is that attendees do not share any personal details with anyone else in the group.

We also advise the use of headphones to protect confidentiality, however this is not mandatory, just a suggestion!
